Carrollwood, Florida is a census-designated place as well as an unincorporated census area in Hillsborough County, Florida. The smaller unincorporated census area of Carrollwood was founded in 1959 and was built out one year later. The community faced a set back in early April 1966 when a tornado ripped through Central Florida, though developers remained vigilant in growing the area. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s Carrollwood continued to sprawl westward.
Carrollwood is currently home to over 30,000 residents. The community is conveniently located just under 20 minutes northeast of Tampa and continues to be a favorite place for couples and young families to come and raise their children. According to a census conducted by the American Community Surveys of 2006-2008, 45.4% of households were married couples living together and 27.4% of households had children under the age of 18.
The sad reality which we in America face today is that anywhere from 40-50% of couples will separate and eventually divorce, and Carrollwood is no exception. For anyone entering into a subsequent marriage, this rate continues to climb with each proceeding union.
Prenuptial Agreements: They Aren’t Just for the Rich and Famous
At the Anton Legal Group encourage all couples who are entering into marriage to speak realistically with one another about whether or not they should have a prenuptial agreement in place. There are a lot of misconceptions about “prenups”, such as them only being available to those with sizable and potentially divisible assets.
Outlining What’s at Stake Before Emotions Run High
The fact is that a prenuptial agreement can expedite a divorce proceeding and help both husband and wife end their marriage amicably. Through a prenup, a husband and wife are able to agree upon which assets will remain theirs, which will be shared, and in what quantities. While a prenup is not the most romantic way to start a marriage, it is a logical one which protects all parties involved and leaves no one guessing who gets what should the marriage come to an end.
If you and your partner are considering a prenuptial agreement, our attorneys at the Anton Legal Group can help. We will gladly explain exactly how a prenuptial agreement can benefit both parties, as well as outline how couples can change or even cancel the agreement. Our attorneys love sharing their legal expertise and offer free initial consultations to potential clients. Call us today at (813) 443-5249.
